    Midlands Hockey is advertising the positions of physiotherapistsvideo analystscampaign managersofficials and assistant hockey coaches 

    for their 2019 hockey programs.  

     

    Midlands Hockey is THE centre for hockey excellence, knowledge & innovation. We operate as an open and engaged hockey centre with committed staff who are devoted in developing goal-driven people. Our goal is to provide ‘Triple A’ development and performance pathways for all hockey athletes, coaches & officials within the Midlands region.    Would you like to be part of our organisation and gain experience in a high performance environment? Apply for one of the following positions: 

     

    Physiotherapist (2 persons)

    • We are looking for a young and ambitious physiotherapist who wants to build a network and gain experience in a high performance sport environment   
    • Availability       : weekly between March-September (either on a Thursday and/or Sunday)
    • Availability       : during 8-9 day campaigns: U18 (July/Wellington), U21 (April/North Harbour) and NHL (September/Tauranga)
    • Personality       : trustworthy, honest, reliable and integrity
    • Required          : official certifications/ degrees and a professional reference
    • Beneficial         : having affinity with sport (preferably field hockey)
    • Location           : living in Hamilton area is beneficial but not a must
    • Remuneration  : campaign remuneration to be discussed (all your campaign and equipment costs are covered)

     

     Video analyst (3 persons)

    • We are looking for someone who sees this as an opportunity to get involved with high performance sport, who wants to work on his/her CV and likes video/data analysation
    • Availability       : during 8-9 day campaigns: U18 (July/Wellington), U21 (April/North Harbour and NHL (September/Tauranga) and several test games prior to  campaigns
    • Personality      : analytic, responsible, accurate, reliable and eye for detail
    • Required         : experience (with Gamebreaker/ Sportscode) at association/ regional level
    • Beneficial        : a background in ICT and/or (creative) graphical design
    • Location        : living in Hamilton area is beneficial but not a must
    • Remuneration : voluntary (all your campaign costs are covered)

     

     Campaign managers (3-6 persons)

    • We are looking for someone who is hands on, organised, structured but flexible at the same time and likes to work in a social environment with young athletes
    • Availability       : during the 8-9 day campaign and on Sundays in the 5 week build-up towards the campaign
    • Personality       : open, integirty, honest and caring
    • Required          : no experience or formal degrees are required
    • Beneficial         : affinity and experience with hockey and managing group processes   
    • Location           : living in Hamilton area is beneficial but not a must
    • Remuneration  : voluntary (all your campaign costs are covered)

     

    Campaign (assistant) coaching (4-6 persons)

    • We are looking for experienced ‘hockey lovers’ who like to develop both players and themselves and support our vision by having an annual athlete approach where you put the athletes needs central
    • Availability       : best-fit to be discussed (varies between 1-3 times p.w.) between Feb-Oct
    • Personality       : enthusiastic, positive and professional attitude
    • Required          : sustainable high performance coach experience (min. level: rep. association) 
    • Beneficial         : playing experience at a high performance level and/or coach accreditation 
    • Location           : you must live in the Midlands region
    • Remuneration  : to be discussed (all your campaign costs are covered)

     

    Officials (2-4 persons)

    • We are looking for officials with potential and ambition who want to be provided with support and opportunities in order to realise a pathway to (inter)national platforms 
    • Availability       : best-fit to be discussed (mainly during Sunday test games) between Feb-Sep  
    • Personality       : responsible, convincing, strict, open and social
    • Required          : experience and a reference at rep. association, regional or national level 
    • Beneficial         : being an (ex) hockey player and/or coach
    • Location           : living in Hamilton area is beneficial but not a must
    • Remuneration  : voluntary

    2019 Trans-Tasman Masters Challenge


    Positions Available: 

    Coaches, Managers, Umpires, Technical Officials, Players, Convenor of Selectors and Selectors.


    In 2019 the Masters Trans-Tasman Challenge will be taking place on the Gold Coast, Australia from the 27th April to 5th of May. The biennial international master's tournament started in 2000 and features female and male teams from Australia and New Zealand competing in seven age divisions: Over 35, Over 40, Over 45, Over 50, Over 55, Over 60 and Over 65.  New Zealand will be looking to take back the Trans-Tasman title after Australia took a narrow 55-52 win in 2017.

     

    We are really keen to reach as many of our Master’s Community as possible to allow expressions of interest be available to everyone.  We are asking you to please pass this on to ALL your hockey people.
